Odaigahara

2023-10-12

Odaigahara is the mountain on the border of Mie and Nara prefectures. The highest peak is 1,695m. The annual rainfall is approximately 5,000 mm: one of the most rainfall region in Japan. This was my first time visit. It was very sunny at the foot of the mountain, but cloudy around the summit unfortunately. Even so, it was so refreshing. (Photos are all taken with SIGMA sd Quattro H)

However, when the sun light broke through the clouds, the Pacific Ocean could be seen over the mountains.

The signboards along the paths tell there are wild bears. It was a little bit scary for me to walk alone on the paths filled with bamboo grass.
